Who we are
The International Working Group on Ethical Public Procurement (IWGEPP) is a collaboration of representatives from over 45 public contracting authorities, public buyer representative groups, governmental bodies, academia, multi-stakeholder initiatives and NGOs from several countries, formed in 2011. Its mission is to work towards socially responsible public procurement becoming the norm and integrated part of public procurement processes in countries around the world.
We provide a hub for public buyers, policy makers, procurement practitioners and scholars. The hub enables information and best practice sharing on socially responsible public procurement. It also provides a platform to explore collaborations that promote public procurement policy as a tool for social sustainability and the protection of human rights.
Our mission
The Mission of the IWGEPP is to work towards socially responsible public procurement becoming a natural and integrated part of public procurement processes in countries around the world.
The primary focus of the IWGEPP is on workers’ rights and freedoms, however, where environmental aspects are felt by the group to be of relevance to this focus, we may choose to incorporate appropriate aspects of environmental concern.
